Mumbai: Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has continued its upward trajectory in international traffic, handling more than five million overseas passengers between January and August 2025. The figure reflects a clear rise from 4.8 million in the same period last year and 4.1 million in 2023, further cementing the airport’s position as one of India’s most significant aviation hubs.

According to data released by Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL), international arrivals at the airport have grown at a compound annual growth rate of 21 per cent over the past three years. On a rolling 12-month basis, covering August 2024 to August 2025, the airport processed 8.24 million inbound international travellers.
