BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — A man is dead after a shooting in Bloomington Friday night.

The Bloomington Police Department said officers responded to the intersection of West Howe and South Morton streets on a report of a possible shooting just before 10 p.m. Sept. 26.

Police said the caller reported hearing people screaming, hearing what they believed was a gunshot and seeing a person on the ground.

When officers arrived on scene, they said they found a 29-year-old man shot in his torso.

The man was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital, where he later died.

Police said investigators believe there was some sort of a "disturbance" between the man and the driver of a passenger car near the intersection.

Police said the shooter reportedly got out of a dark-colored sedan and shot the man.
