BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- One man is dead following a shooting in Bloomington on Friday night.

According to the Bloomington Police Department, around 9:40 p.m. officers were called to the intersection of West Howe Street and South Morton Street on reports of a possible shooting.

Upon arrival, police found a 29-year-old man lying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound on the left side of his upper torso. Police attempted life-saving treatment until paramedics arrived and the man was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation into the shooting revealed that some disturbance had occurred between the victim and the driver of a dark colored sedan near the intersection.
