Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) chief Hagrama Mohilary will take oath as the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) on October 3 for the fourth time after BPF won the 2025 BTC polls bagging 28 of the 40 seats.
Mohilary and other members of BPF will meet Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya in Guwahati tomorrow to stake claim to form the Council.
Twenty-one is the magic number in the BTC and the BPF has a comfortable majority to form the Council on its own.
Mohilary has been the interim chief of BTC from 2003 to 2005 and was elected the CEM for 3 times in 2005, 2010 and 2015. In 2020, BPF had won 17 seats but the BJP, UPPL and GSP join
