GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A man is in custody following a shooting that happened earlier this month, according to the Greensboro Police Department.
At 9:45 p.m. on September 9, officers responded to an aggravated assault in the 100 block of East Seneca Road and found one gunshot victim.
On Friday, Obie Lashawn Malachi, 43, was arrested and charged with deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, possession of a firearm by a felon and discharge of a firearm in the city.
He remains in the Guilford County Jail and has been served with outstanding warrants in other cases, some dating back to 2023, including drug-related charges and failure to register as a sex offender.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
