A man was fatally stabbed at a Motel 6 in Claremont on Friday night, Sept. 26, police said.

At around 11:00 p.m. officers responded to a report of a fight in progress at a Motel 6 on S. Indian Hill Boulevard, the Claremont Police Department said. While officers were en route, the 911 caller said there may have been a stabbing.

They found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

What led to the fight was not immediately known.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau is investigating. No arrests have been made, and the suspect remains outstanding, police said. The victim’s identity was not released.
