WILKINSBURG, Pa. —

Police are searching for a man who they say committed a series of burglaries in Wilkinsburg and later escaped from a hospital while waiting to be transferred to the Allegheny County Jail.

An official with the Wilkinsburg Police Department said Davon Brown committed a series of burglaries over the course of three days and is wanted for the "theft of a motor vehicle, criminal trespass, and theft that occurred in the Wilkinsburg area." Advertisement

Brown was arrested by the department on Friday, but was taken to UPMC Shadyside Hospital after suffering from a suspected drug overdose while awaiting transport to the Allegheny County Jail, officials said.

A follow-up conducted by the department later found that Brown had escaped from the hospital the same day.
