SEYMOUR – Bedford North Lawrence dropped two matches in the Trinity Lutheran Invitational during high school volleyball action on Saturday.
The Stars suffered a 25-11, 25-12 loss to Lutheran in the first round, then fell to Eastern Pekin 25-20, 25-13 in the second.
Sammie Gratzer posted seven kills against the Cougars. She added five kills while Lily Mishler had four and Trinidy Bailey totaled 13 digs against the Musketeers.
”Our girls played with good energy and were competitive most of the time,” BNL coach Aaron Wagoner said. “We are proud of the way they played. Trinity is very good with big middles, and Pekin had talented kids on the outside. I would not be surprised if both made a deep run next month in the tournament.”
The Stars (11-11) will host Eastern Greene on Monday.
