BON AQUA, Tenn. (WSMV) - Recovery Fest Hickman, a free festival, was held in Hickman County for Suicide and Addiction Awareness Month, hosted by Hope In Recovery and The Booker D. Foundation.
On Saturday, people gathered at Famous Hideaway Farm for the Live; Love; Run 5k Trail Run, followed by a butterfly release and other free activities.
This was the first time the festival was held, as it hoped to bring people together for a community event dedicated to suicide prevention, substance abuse recovery, and mental health awareness, especially on one of Tennessee’s most iconic and meaningful properties.
The Famous Hideaway Farm was once owned by Johnny Cash. Cash reportedly cherished the property as “the center of the universe, where gravity begins.”
Now owned by the Oxley family, they
