The driver in a chaotic police chase downtown that led to the cancellation of the 2024 Fiesta parade has reached a deal with prosecutors to serve three years in prison.
Justin Jimenez, 22, has pleaded guilty to aggravated battery upon a peace officer, two counts of aggravated assault upon a peace officer, aggravated fleeing a law enforcement officer, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident and criminal damage to property, according to a plea agreement filed last week in state District Court.
Jimemez will be sentenced to six years in prison, the deal states, with three to be served in prison and three years suspended on supervised probation, as well as two years of parole and restitution to be determined by the Probation and Parole division.
