STONEHAM, Mass. —
First responders helped a driver who was trapped down a wooded embankment on Saturday morning.
Stoneham police say they received multiple 911 calls around 11:49 a.m. for a report of a crash behind an apartment complex at 1 Stonehill Drive.
Officer Colin Strong was the first one to arrive at the scene and saw a vehicle wedged between trees next to the parking lot of the complex.
The driver, an 83-year-old woman with no apparent injuries, was stuck in the driver's seat and couldn't get out.
Stoneham firefighters arrived and secured the vehicle. The woman was freed from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital by Armstrong Ambulance.
“I’d like to commend Officer Strong, along with all the Stoneham police officers and Firefighters who responded to this crash,” sa
