A Tangipahoa Parish jail inmate walked off a work release detail Saturday afternoon and remains at-large, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office said.

Christopher Delcambre, 51, was on a work assignment at the Florida Parishes Arena in Amite but was unaccounted for once the task was complete, authorities said.

Delcambre was in custody in connection to drug and felony theft charges, and the Sheriff's Office said it doesn't believe his escape presents a danger to the public.

Delcambre was last seen heading toward the baseball fields near the arena. Events set for Saturday evening at the arena are set to continue as scheduled.

The Sheriff's Office asks anyone with information on Delcambre's whereabouts to reach out to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail or Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa.
