We are blessed in that many species of plants grow and thrive in our area.

Our moderate climate and abundant rainfall allow for the planting of a variety of plants that beautify our home landscapes. However, be aware that some are invasive, and left unchecked, they can grow out of control and take over an area.

What does the term ’invasive’ mean? These plants are not native to the area, meaning they were imported from somewhere and must have been introduced intentionally or unintentionally. The species causes, or is likely to cause, environmental harm, economic harm, and/or harm to humans. In their native range, natural controls are present, such as climate, natural pests, and other factors that keep their numbers in check.
