Russia’s foreign minister Sergei Lavrov has told the United Nations on Saturday that Moscow has no intention of attacking Europe or NATO countries but will mount a “decisive response” towards any “aggression” that is directed towards Moscow, AP reported.
During his wide-ranging speech at the UN General Assembly on Saturday, Lavrov said that threats against Russia on behalf of Western nations have become “increasingly common”. He took a considerable measured tone toward the United States in the backdrop of a summit held last month between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump in Alaska.
