VAL-D'OR — Ryan Howard had a goal and two assists, Logan Brennan had a goal and assist, and the visiting Quebec Remparts defeated the Val-d'Or Foreurs 5-2 in Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League action on Saturday.
Mavrick Rousseau-Hamel, Alex Desruisseaux and Andreas Straka also scored for the Remparts, who were tied 1-1 after the first period, but led 3-1 heading into the third. Etienne Desjardins chipped in with a pair of assists.
Philippe Veilleux and Nathan Brisson each had a goal and assist for the Foreurs, who outshot the visitors 33-21, but had trouble solving Remparts' netminder Louis-Antoine Denault, who stopped 31 of 33 shots.
The Foreurs went 1-for-6 on the power play, while the Remparts were 0-for-6.
