IOWA CITY, Iowa — Indiana football quarterback Fernando Mendoza offered an apology to fans after a 20-15 win over Iowa on Saturday afternoon.
It wasn't the thousands of Hawkeyes fans who left Kinnick Stadium in disappointment after he threw a 49-yard game-winner to Elijah Sarratt with 1:28 to go.
He was OK with them being upset, but Mendoza felt bad for the gamblers who were impacted by the safety he gave up on the final snap to run out the clock.
