The St. Louis Blues are keeping one of their key pieces on the blue line around.

Cam Fowler agreed to a three-year contract extension with the Blues, the team announced Saturday. The deal carries a $6.1 million cap hit.

The 33-year-old was acquired by St. Louis from the Anaheim Ducks last season, and he helped the team earn a playoff berth.

Fowler appeared in 51 regular-season games with the Blues last season, posting 36 points after struggling with four points in his first 17 games with the Ducks.

His addition proved valuable in the post-season when he had two goals and 10 points in seven games, setting a new franchise mark for points in a single series.
