BUFFALO, N.Y. — Two passengers injured in a deadly bus crash on the thruway last month have filed a lawsuit against the bus driver and the Staten Island-based tour company, claiming negligence and recklessness.

The lawsuit, first reported by The Buffalo News, identifies the passengers as Mohammed Rahman and Zakir Hoassain, both residents of Long Island City. According to court filings, the pair were injured in the crash and are still receiving medical treatment for their injuries.

The crash involved 53 passengers in total, with five people pronounced dead at the scene. Several other injured passengers continue to be treated in hospitals across Western New York.
