LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -Lansing first responders competed against each other in a friendly game of basketball at Don Johnson Field on Saturday to help raise money for a good cause.

The game between the Lansing Police Department and the Lansing Fire Department, and it was put together to help raise money for the local Boys and Girls Club.

Cornelius Brown, who is a Patrol Officer for the police department, talked about why this event is so important to them and the community.

“It is a community event right?,’ said Brown. ”I want them to realize that police and fire we see each other all the time, but that this isn’t for us, we’re here for the community.“[...] ”We want to give as many resources as possible. And to humanize the badge."
