OXFORD, Miss. — The cracks in LSU football' s armor that have been evident all season led to the Tigers falling from college football unbeaten ranks on Saturday, Sept. 27.

No. 4 LSU couldn't overcome an inconsistent first half during a game in which Tigers coach Brian Kelly said afterward was the antithesis of "complementary football." This isn't the first time those words have been used to describe an LSU performance this season, but this time it ended in a 24-19 loss at the hands of the Rebels inside Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

The Tigers (4-1, 1-1 SEC) will head into their first off week of the season stewing on a loss to No. 11 Ole Miss (5-0, 3-0) in a game that was close on the scoreboard but didn't look like it in the box score nor felt like it while it unfolded. LSU QB GARR
