The first open date is coming at a very good time for a Tulane football team with plenty of bumps and bruises, although the time off likely will not benefit redshirt sophomore linebacker Dickson Agu , who was carted off during Saturday’s 31-14 win against Tulsa.
Agu , who entered with a team-best 31 tackles and added five more Saturday, went down with a non-contact injury while chasing Golden Hurricane quarterback Baylor Hayes late in the second quarter.
“It looks (like a) pretty substantial (injury),” Tulane coach Jon Sumrall said. “I’m not at liberty yet to give detailed information, but it looks pretty serious. It doesn’t look good.”
