Shadow foreign affairs Minister Michaelia Cash has expressed support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after he condemned Australia’s recognition of Palestinian statehood.
Mr Netanyahu addressed the UN on Friday, accusing Australia, Britain, France and Canada of rewarding terrorism by recognising Palestinian statehood.
He described the recognitions as a “mark of shame” and said leaders “caved” under pressure rather than standing up to terrorists, referencing Hamas’s October 7 attacks.
His speech drew walkouts from some delegates, while others gave him standing ovations.
