An active shooter opened fire from a boat at a restaurant in the United States' North Carolina on Saturday night, killing at least three people and injuring several others before fleeing the scene, authorities said.

The incident took place around 9:30 p.m. at the American Fish Company, a pub and restaurant located at 150 Yacht Basin Drive, in the Southport Yacht Basin area, approximately 20 miles south of Wilmington.

According to police, at least seven people were shot, including three who were pronounced dead at the scene. The remaining victims were transported to area hospitals, though their conditions have not been released.
