AMES — Iowa State fans can finally leave the Tums alone. For the first time this season, the Cyclones have beaten an FBS opponent by more than one score.

Saturday, No. 14 ISU defeated Arizona 39-14. It is the Cyclones' (5-0, 2-0 Big 12) first two-score victory against an opponent of equal caliber since beating Cincinnati 34-17 last November.

The Chase Sowell hype makes sense now

With one catch, junior receiver Chase Sowell eclipsed his total receiving yardage this season.

Sowell had just four catches for 32 yards in his first four games. Against Arizona, his first reception went for 43 yards, his second for 32 and his third for 55.

Sowell finished with four catches for 146 yards. It bests his previous career-high of 138 against Army in 2024. Sa
