IOWA CITY — The ending to Iowa’s 20-15 loss to Indiana provided an odd conclusion to a disappointing near-upset for the Hawkeyes.

After failing to score a game-tying touchdown on what would ultimately be its last drive, Iowa (3-2, 1-1 Big Ten) turned the ball back over to the Hoosiers (5-0, 2-0 Big Ten) with 16 seconds remaining in the game. But the Hawkeyes still had all three timeouts.

What ensued was a sequence of plays which seemed to confuse everyone inside Kinnick Stadium — coaches, players, fans and officials.
