COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - Saturday, after No. 9 Texas A&M’s 16-10 victory over Auburn, it took Aggie head coach Mike Elko six questions in the postgame press conference to bristle at the tone of the queries.

“Does anybody want to ask a question about, like, us being 4-0 for the first time since 2016, or how the defense bounced back?” Elko said, tagging the soapbox moment on the end of an answer about quarterback Marcel Reed’s one interception.

“My gosh, will you guys stop being so dreadful and gloomy?”

It is impressive A&M remained undefeated, holding a talented Auburn offense to 177 yards and a 0-for-13 clip on third down. Equally impressive — or perhaps concerning — is that, for the second consecutive week, A&M had to overcome both opponent and itself to secure a narrow win.
