PORTLAND, Ore. — A man faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, after he attempted to take a Portland police officer's gun during a struggle that put two officers in the hospital Saturday morning, police said.

The suspect, 43-year-old Bo W. Davis, of Portland, was initially taken to the hospital after the nearly 7-minute skirmish during which police said he tried to take an officer's gun, with the officer eventually putting Davis in a "neck hold" that ended the altercation.

Davis was released from the hospital later Saturday and booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center. He faces charges of attempted murder, first-degree robbery, assaulting a public safety officer, menacing, and an outstanding warrant, police said.
