Hurricane Humberto is a monster Category 5 storm packing winds of 160 mph. It is moving northwest at 13mph. It will impact Bermuda early next week. No direct impacts to the U.S., but it will help to steer Imelda out to sea next week.
TD 9 / Future Imelda
Tropical Depression 9 (TD9) is over the Bahamas right now with winds of 35 mph. This system is currently moving northwest at a snails pace of 2 mph.
TD 9 is expected to strengthen into Tropical Storm Imelda Sunday morning as it approaches Nassau. It will then become a hurricane by Tuesday morning as it approaches the southeast coast. After that it will briefly stall before making a right turn out into the Atlantic as it is picked up by Hurricane Humberto (The Fujiwhara effect).
