A tropical depression forecast to become Tropical Storm Imelda on Sunday will bring deteriorating conditions along Florida’s coast as the system moves over the Bahamas, according to the National Hurricane Center.

A tropical storm watch remains in effect along Florida’s east coast from the Palm Beach/Martin county line north to the Flagler/Volusia county line.

As of the NHC’s 5 a.m. advisory, the center of what is still Tropical Depression Nine was located about 100 miles south-southwest of the central Bahamas moving north-northwest at 7 mph with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph.
