A 15-year-old schoolboy has pleaded guilty to raping a teenage girl he had never met before in a horrific park attack. The 17-year-old girl was subjected to the harrowing ordeal near the tennis courts in Cripplegate Park, Worcester.

A court heard the boy followed the victim, who he did not know, into the park at around 2am on August 10 before attacking her. Police launched a manhunt for the boy and he was arrested days later.

On Friday the boy admitted one charge of rape and one charge of assault by penetration when he appeared at Worcester Crown Court. Judge Andrew Lockhart KC remanded the boy, who cannot be named, in custody while a pre-sentence report was prepared.
