Tyrell Albin considers himself a political moderate, and he figures many other Oklahoma teachers feel the same.

He doesn't care if Oklahoma's new state schools superintendent is a Republican, Democrat or independent.

"But I want him or her to be a person who puts the needs of the students and improving academic performance ahead of everything else," said Albion, a high school English language arts teacher.
