Target fitting rooms are dangerous, lawsuit says after woman was recorded undressing

KALAMAZOO, MI — A woman who was secretly recorded undressing in a fitting room has filed a lawsuit, blaming the Target Corporation for giving another customer the opportunity to watch her.

It happened Aug. 15, 2022, at Target, 6839 S. Westnedge Ave., in Portage.

The man was later arrested and convicted of two counts of capturing an image of an unclothed person, the federal lawsuit says.

It demands damages in excess of $25,000, arguing the woman, Dannica Alling, now has nightmares and permanent fear, wondering if images of her are circulating on the internet or elsewhere.

The lawsuit argues Target missed the mark designing the changing rooms and the Minnesota-based retailer should redesign them to protect customers.
