WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Authorities were called to the scene of car crash near the intersection of 37th and Rock Road just after 5:00 a.m. Sunday morning.
Once on scene, first responders found a car that had smashed into a tree on the side of the road. The driver of that car, a young man believed to be in his late teens or early twenties, was trapped inside unconscious and had to be extricated by the Wichita Fire Department. There were no passengers in the vehicle, the driver was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries. Police believe the driver missed a curve in the road and continued driving straight, jumping the curb and colliding with the tree. No other vehicles are believed to have been involved.
