RICHMOND, Va. (DC News Now) -- Money is on the way to people across Virginia in the form of a tax rebate from the state.
Gov. Glenn Youngkin formally announced the rebate would be coming through a news released on Sept. 24, but it was the General Assembly that set things motion in February when it reached a budget agreement.
Eligible taxpayers will receive tax rebates of up to $200 if they filed individually for the 2024 tax year, and up to $400 if they filed jointly.
To be eligible, you have to have incurred tax liability in 2024 and filed by November 3, 2025. You can check your eligility here.
If you're eligible, and you filed you state taxes prior to July 1, the state will send your rebate by Oct. 15, 2025, and you'll receive it by the end of October. If you received a Virginia tax
