Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has made clear there are no immediate plans to pursue Australia becoming a republic after meeting King Charles in Scotland.

Mr Albanese described his recent meeting at Balmoral Castle as “a great personal honour” and a significant moment for both himself and Australia.

Speaking to the ABC after the meeting, Mr Albanese said, “It was splendid. He is someone who is very interested in Australia, interested in the affairs of the world, and it’s always a pleasure to talk with His Majesty.”
