British Gas has issued an update to customers ahead to launch of a winter support scheme.

Around six million households will benefit from the Warm Home Discount this year.

The scheme has been extended for winter 2025/26 to help more struggling families.

The WHD launches again from Wednesday, October 1.

It knocks £150 off bills one time only during winter for those who are eligible, though that can happen at any point up to next March.

This year, everyone who receives Universal Credit and certain other benefits like Housing Benefit and Employment and Support Allowance will qualify.
