WAYNE COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - A woman from Cape Girardeau, Missouri was seriously injured in a crash late Saturday night.

According to the Mo. State Highway Patrol, the 35-year-old was driving a passenger car westbound on MO-AA, just outside of Piedmont, when the vehicle went off the road into an embankment and overturned.

According to MSHP, the woman was not wearing a seat belt and had to be airlifted to an out-of-state hospital for treatment.

Two children were also involved in the crash and had minor injuries.
