Multiple people have been shot at a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Michigan on Sunday morning, according to police.

The Grand Blanc Township Police Department said the shooter is down and there is no active threat to the public.

Police have not specified the condition of the victims, nor released their names.

A fire at the church has since been contained, but people are still asked to avoid the area.

A reunification place for people off-site is the Trillium Theater.

In a video posted to Facebook, Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson said the area had been evacuated and promised more updates later. A press conference is set for 1 p.m. EST.

“This is a dynamic scene,” he said.
