Sen. Ashley Moody says she is stepping up efforts to stem “narcoterrorism” which is coming from drug cartels associated with Venezuela.

Moody took part in a law enforcement roundtable discussion in Miami-Dade County Friday where she promoted several legislative measures she is co-sponsoring in the U.S. Senate designed to fight drug cartels smuggling substances into America from Venezuela. One of those measures is the Stop Maduro Act .

That proposal would increase rewards that contribute to the arrest and conviction of Nicolas Maduro Moros , the current President of Venezuela. The proposed legislation would pay informants or witnesses $100,000 for any assistance that ended in the conviction of Moduro on drug trafficking charges.
