DUBLIN -- The Pittsburgh Steelers’ game in Ireland was a big story all offseason, not just because it was a history-making first NFL regular season game, but the connections the Steelers have to the country.

The Rooney’s family history in Ireland runs deep, with team president Art Rooney II saying ‘this is our home.’ Hailing from Newry in Northern Ireland, this is a game that Rooney and his father, Dan, dreamed of having at some point.

Now, that came to fruition. And not only did the Steelers play in a game regular season game, but they won it, too. Sure, they turned it into something that was far more entertaining than it should have been late in the game. But this game should have never been contentious.
