Joe Alt being out for an extended period of time would be detrimental to the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Chargers’ offensive line did not need to lose another starter, but that is what happened on Sunday when their star left tackle had to be helped off the field during the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Giants. Alt went to the sideline and then got on a cart to return to the locker room.

Alt was making a block when two defenders fell on the top of his leg.

This was unfortunate as Alt was forced to move from right tackle to left tackle after Rashawn Slater’s season-ending knee injury this summer.

On top of Alt being out, the team is also without right guard Mekhi Becton in this game due to a concussion.

The Chargers say Joe Alt is questionable to return with an ankle injury.
