DUBLIN, Ireland (WTAJ) — The Steelers’ international trip took an unexpected turn when backup quarterback Skylar Thompson was reportedly jumped and robbed Friday night in Dublin, just two days before Pittsburgh’s matchup with the Minnesota Vikings.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Thompson suffered minor injuries in the incident but remains with the team. Steelers spokesman Burt Lauten confirmed the situation in a statement, saying the organization is working with NFL security to gather more information but would not provide further comment at this time.
