Justin Rose was forced to contend with an untimely intervention from Keegan Bradley during his Ryder Cup singles clash.

The Team Europe star was involved in a thrilling encounter with Cameron Young in Sunday's opening match - which the latter won on the final hole.

Despite taking an early lead, Rose found himself three down through 12 holes at Bethpage Black.

His challenge was then intensified by a wayward second shot on the par-five 13th.

The Englishman's miss landed considerably right of the green, resting next to a television tower with officials required to make a ruling.

Rose was forced to wait for several minutes as a decision was reached before the Team USA captain intervened himself.
