WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) - Waterbury officials provided an update on Sunday regarding the water main break that disrupted the city last week .

According to the mayor’s office, the necessary parts for the repair on Huntingdon Avenue have arrived.

The finals repairs were expected to take place on Monday evening.

During that time, residents were told there would be a planned water shutdown.

Monday’s loss of water was expected to reduce the pressure on the pipe so crews can finish the repair, said officials.

The work was expected to start after peak hours and last about six hours.

During this time, residents were told to expect reduced water pressure or a temporary loss of service.

Officials said the schools were not expected to be affected by the water shutdown.
