(KBTX) - The Texas A&M football team moved up three positions to No. 6 in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 after beating Auburn in its Southeastern Conference opener Saturday, 16-10.
Sunday’s ranking marked the first time A&M has held a Top-10 position in the poll for three consecutive weeks since the 2020 season. The Aggies had a streak of 15 straight polls in the Top 10 between the 2020 and 2021 seasons, the fourth longest in program history.
The Aggies claimed the No. 5 position in the USA Today Coaches Poll , moving up four positions from last week.
A&M was aided by falls from Penn State, who lost to Oregon Saturday, as well as Georgia and LSU. The Aggies are one of five SEC teams in the top 10: No. 4 Ole Miss, No. 5 Oklahoma, No. 9 Texas and No. 10 Alabama.
