The Northern Lakes League, Northern Buckeye Conference, and Northwest Ohio Athletic League all featured showdowns between perennial powers.

Genoa makes a statement win against rival Oak Harbor; Eastwood keeps pace.

The Comets surged past the Rockets 34-19 on Friday and took back the Celestial Bowl trophy. Genoa (5-1) also remained undefeated in the NBC (3-0) and tied for the top spot in the standings with Eastwood.

The Comets handed the Rockets their first loss in NBC play and ended a two-game losing streak in the series. Oak Harbor has won two straight NBC titles since joining the league in 2023.
