OKC Comets outfielder Ryan Ward was named the Pacific Coast League MVP on Saturday, becoming the second OKC player in the past three seasons to win the award.
Michael Busch won it in 2023.
Ward is also the third player in the Bricktown era to win the honor, joining Nelson Cruz in 2008.
Ward was an easy choice after leading all of Minor League Baseball with 36 home runs, 122 RBIs, 73 extra-base hits and 315 total bases. He was second in the PCL with 113 runs, third in slugging percentage (.557) and OPS (.937) and fourth with 164 hits.
His RBIs were the most by a PCL player since 2010 and total bases most since 2001.
Ward also set the Bricktown-era single-season mark in hits, runs and RBIs. His homers were the second most in the era, which began in 1998. He also has the Bricktown-era
