A traffic stop in Museum Park escalated into a gunfire exchange Sunday, leaving a METRO Police officer with a minor injury and the suspect in custody.
According to the Houston Police and METRO PD, the incident began around 4:15 p.m. near the 1500 block of Wentworth when a METRO officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
During the traffic stop the suspect reportedly showed a weapon and fired a shot before trying to flee. Gunfire was exchanged during the confrontation.

The officer was grazed and taken to the hospital, where he is conscious and stable. The suspect was also hospitalized and remains in custody.
