FOXBOROUGH - The offense started slow, but eventually got into a groove, and never looked back.

Drake Maye, who was coming off a two turnover game last week in the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, played mistake-free as the Patriots charged out to a 28-6 lead by half time.

It was gravy from there in a rare blowout win, as the Patriots crushed Carolina, 42-13 at Gillette Stadium.

Maye, after one off-target throw in the first series, was accurate and efficient the rest of the way. He was in command and in control.

He finished 14 of 17 for 203 yards with two passing touchdowns, and one rushing TD. There were no fumbles, and no interceptions.

The biggest takeaway, though, was that he and Stefon Diggs, who had two receptions of 30-or-more yards, finally clicked in earnest.
