BURTON, MI – The Michigan State Police Bomb Squad is outside of the Burton home of a man accused of a shooting and fire on Sunday morning at a Grand Blanc Township church.

The shooting occurred at 10:22 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 4285 McCandlish Road in Grand Blanc Township.

Police have identified the man accused of shooting 10 people, killing two of them, as 40-year-old Thomas Jacob Sanford .

Of the eight other victims, one is in critical condition, according to police. The other seven are in stable condition.

Shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday, an MSP bomb squad armored skid steer arrived at the scene near the intersection of Atherton and Center roads.
